The JacHOBBY Train Club

Some time ago, a group of model makers decided to create a new train club; that was the beginning of JacHOBBY Train Club… They occupy the basement of JacHOBBY store.  They started from far but the result is already great!

Mission and Vision Statement

Mission (goals and objectives)

JacHOBBY is a non-profit organization that has for mission to promote the “O” gauge model railroading popularity for a public of all ages. The association also promotes the exchange of knowledge between the hobby’s enthusiasts. The association is particularly seeking to demonstrate the educational and therapeutic effects of this hobby on kids and teenagers.

The association will accomplish this mission by:

  • Participating in various promotional events in the model railroading community;
  • Organizing educational field trips (for example: St-Constant train museum or Chelsea-Wakefield excursions);
  • Supporting a charitable cause dedicated to our youth (cause to be determined).

Vision

JacHOBBY ’s ambition is to become the standard of reference for “O” gauge railroad modeling in Quebec within the next five years, by:

  • Attracting 25 members in the association;
  • Designing and building an operating “O” gauge model railroad layout;
  • Developing innovative techniques and methods;
  • Creating a forum to exchange ideas and information.
